Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Operated by PM ENT. AB, registered in Sweden.
1. Introduction
Sketchra is a family-friendly platform that transforms children's drawings into AI-generated artwork. We are committed to being transparent about the data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
This policy applies to all users of Sketchra, operated by PM ENT. AB (Sweden). All accounts are created and managed by adults (parents or guardians). Children do not create accounts or submit personal information directly.
2. Information We Collect
A. Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your name and profile picture from Google. This is used for authentication, account recovery, and essential service communications.
B. Drawings and Generated Artwork
We store the original drawings you upload and the AI-generated artwork produced from them. These are stored securely in private cloud storage (Supabase) and are only accessible from your account. Storage retention depends on your plan (see our Terms of Service).
C. Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details, bank information, or full payment data on our servers. We receive from Stripe: transaction status, plan type, and subscription period information — used to manage your token balance and account status.
D. Diagnostic and Technical Metadata
When you voluntarily submit feedback via the in-app feedback widget, we capture a snapshot of technical metadata to help us reproduce and fix bugs. This includes:
- Browser name and version (e.g., Chrome 122)
- Operating system (e.g., macOS 14, iOS 17)
- Screen resolution and device pixel ratio
- A circular buffer of your last 25 in-app actions immediately before submitting (e.g., “image_uploaded”, “style_selected”, “generation_started”) — these are event names only, not content
This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used exclusively for debugging and service improvement. It is only collected when you actively choose to submit feedback.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session.
- To process your drawings through AI and return the generated artwork to you.
- To manage your token balance, subscription status, and billing history.
- To send essential service emails (e.g., payment receipts, account changes).
- To investigate and fix bugs using voluntarily submitted diagnostic data.
- To ensure platform safety and prevent misuse.
We do not use your content for marketing without your explicit consent. We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI Processing — Google Gemini
To generate artwork, your uploaded drawings are transmitted to the Google Gemini API for processing. This transmission is necessary to provide the core service.
Sketchra does not use your drawings or generated images to train its own AI models. Google's handling of API data — including whether it is used for model improvement — is governed by Google's Gemini API Terms of Service and their privacy practices, which are separate from ours.
We believe you should be in control of your content. We do not share your drawings with any other AI provider beyond what is required to process your request.
5. Analytics
Sketchra uses Microsoft Clarity, a session analytics service provided by Microsoft Corporation, to help us understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity records anonymised session replays, heatmaps, and click patterns so we can identify usability issues and improve the experience.
Clarity operates with “Balanced” masking enabled, which means form field inputs (such as email addresses and passwords) are automatically obscured and never transmitted to Microsoft. No personally identifiable information is intentionally collected through Clarity.
Microsoft may use the data collected by Clarity to improve its own products and services, including personalising ads shown on the Microsoft network. This is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement. Clarity data is retained by Microsoft for 13 months.
6. Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of trusted third-party service providers required to operate Sketchra:
- Supabase — Account data, image storage, and database hosting.
- Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management.
- Google Gemini API — AI image analysis and artwork generation.
- Vercel — Hosting and deployment of the web application.
- Microsoft Clarity — Session recording and UX analytics (see Section 5).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Sketchra is designed to be used by parents or guardians with their children — not by children independently. All accounts are created and managed by an adult.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children's drawings are uploaded by and accessible only to the parent account holder. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@sketchra.com and we will promptly delete it.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- Active accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Subscriber creations are stored indefinitely; free-tier creations are stored for 30 days.
- Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data and stored creations will be permanently removed within 30 days.
- Transaction records: We retain billing records for as long as required by applicable financial and tax law.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information in your account.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your creations (via download) at any time.
- Object to certain uses of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@sketchra.com. As PM ENT. AB is registered in Sweden (EU), we comply with applicable data protection regulations. Users in the European Union have additional rights under GDPR, which will be addressed in a dedicated GDPR supplement when we formally open to EU users.
10. Cookies
Sketchra uses the following cookies:
- Essential cookies — Required to maintain your login session. Without these the service cannot function.
- Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) — Used to record anonymised session data and heatmaps for UX improvement purposes. These cookies are set by Microsoft and are subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement. No personally identifiable information is captured.
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking beyond what Microsoft Clarity requires to operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
